Frequently Asked Questions
1. What services do you offer?
We provide independent medical evaluations that support veterans in their VA disability claims. Our primary services include:
- Nexus Letters
- Disability Benefits Questionnaires (DBQs)
- Independent Medical Examinations (IMEs)
- Medical Record Reviews and Opinions
All evaluations are conducted by licensed medical professionals in accordance with VA and medical documentation standards.
2. What is a Nexus Letter?
A Nexus Letter is a medical opinion written by a licensed provider that explains the connection (“nexus”) between your current health condition and your military service. A strong Nexus Letter can significantly improve the outcome of your VA disability claim, especially in cases where the VA has previously denied service connection.
3. What is a DBQ?
A Disability Benefits Questionnaire (DBQ) is a standardized form used by the VA to evaluate the severity and impact of a specific medical condition. We assist in completing DBQs accurately, based on a clinical evaluation and your medical records, to help ensure your claim is fully documented.
4. Are you affiliated with the VA?
No, we are an independent medical clinic and not affiliated with the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs (VA). However, we understand the VA claims process and provide evaluations that are structured to meet VA standards for medical evidence.
5. Will your Nexus Letter or DBQ guarantee my VA claim will be approved?
While we cannot guarantee outcomes, our documentation is thorough, evidence-based, and written in a format that is commonly accepted by the VA. Many veterans have successfully used our evaluations to strengthen or reopen their claims.
6. How much do your services cost?
We offer flat-rate pricing depending on the service provided. Our rates are transparent and will be discussed with you during your consultation. Payment is due prior to the completion of your report. We do not bill insurance or the VA directly.
7. Do you provide telehealth evaluations?
Yes, we offer telehealth appointments, but only to veterans who reside in the state of California. Due to licensing requirements, we cannot provide telehealth services to individuals located outside of California.
8. What documents do I need to get started?
To begin your evaluation, you’ll need:
- A copy of your VA claim or denial letter (if available)
- Any relevant medical records or diagnoses
- Your military service records (if available)
- A summary of your condition and how it relates to your service
We will review your case and determine what’s needed to proceed.
9. How long does it take to get my report?
Turnaround time varies by service:
- Nexus Letters: Typically within 7–10 business days
- DBQs/IME Reports: Usually within 5–7 business days after evaluation
Expedited options may be available upon request.
